I know summer is winding down and many of us are already thinking about Fall. But with the holiday weekend upon us I wanted to share 2 of my favorite summer sippers with you. Served, or course, in gorgeous vintage drinks ware. There’s no better way to kick off a celebration!
Here’s a fun twist on the Classic Champagne Cocktail. Liquor-laced Popsicles + Champagne.
There are lots of boozy popsicle recipes online. Check out the 14 yummy recipes on thrillist.com. I made these with pink lemonade, a generous splash of vodka and a kiss of Limoncello. Aren’t they charming in mis-matched champagne coupes?! As the popsicles start to melt, they turn the champagne a lovely shade of pale pink.
For larger celebrations, I love make-ahead batches of party punch. Here’s a great recipe I found on thenest.com for Boozy Strawberry Limeade.
4 cups water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1 cup fresh strawberries, rough chopped
4 oz Blanco Tequila
Splash of Grand Marnier
Bring water, sugar & mint leaves to boil in small saucepan over medium high heat. Boil until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let sit for 20 minutes so mint can infuse. Strain cooled mixture into wide-mouth pitcher, discard mint. Add strawberries & lime juice and blend with immersion blender. Chill. Strain into punch bowl, discarding strawberry pulp. Stir in Tequila and Grand Marnier. Garnish with mint leaves, lime & orange slices.
Served in a vintage pedestal punch bowl, this communal cocktail is inviting and elegant.
Enjoy the last of the summer sunshine and celebrate with a lip-smacking boozy beverage!
Cheers! Lisa
